Ranch Entry Gate Installation in Central Kansas
Custom ranch entry and driveway gates for acreages across Haven, Hutchinson, Wichita, and Reno County, KS — statement entrances built to stand up to Kansas wind. Free on-site estimates and a 5-year workmanship warranty.
Make an Entrance Worth the Drive
Your entry sets the tone for the whole place. A ranch entry gate is the first thing folks see when they turn off the county road, and it tells them they've arrived somewhere that's cared for. River Creek Fence designs and installs custom statement entrances for acreages and working ground across Reno County — from spreads outside Haven to homes on the edge of Hutchinson and Wichita — and we build them to look as good in twenty years as they do the day we hang them.
Owner Cody Yoder grew up around livestock and farm ground, so he understands an entry has to do more than look sharp. It needs to swing wide enough for a gooseneck and a stock trailer, close tight against the wind, and tie cleanly into your existing fence line. We work in welded steel, heavy pipe, and overhead timber or pipe arches with your brand or name worked across the top, then square it all up so the gate hangs true for the long haul.
We handle the whole job start to finish — laying out the approach so it works with your driveway and slope, setting heavy posts deep in concrete below the frost line, and wiring in automation if you want to open the gate from the cab of your truck. You get one honest price, a free on-site estimate, and a crew that cleans up before it leaves.
Is a Custom Ranch Entry Gate Right for Your Place?
Great for
- A statement entrance that gives your acreage real pride of place and curb appeal
- Overhead timber or pipe arches with your name or brand worked across the top
- Heavy welded steel and pipe built to shrug off Central Kansas wind for decades
- Wide openings sized for goosenecks, stock trailers, and equipment
- Optional automation so you open the gate from your truck without getting out
Things to know
- A custom statement gate costs more than a basic farm or driveway gate
- Automation adds power, wiring, and the occasional service call to the budget
- Tall overhead arches need deep, heavily braced posts to handle wind load
- Approach grade and drainage have to be right so the gate clears and swings free
Built to Stand Tall in Kansas Wind
An entry gate — especially one with an overhead arch — catches every bit of wind that rolls across open Kansas ground. That's why the posts matter more than anything you can see. We set heavy steel posts deep in concrete below the frost line so they don't lean, heave, or work loose through years of freeze-thaw and 50-mph gusts. Corner and arch posts get extra bracing, because an entrance that racks or sags is one that wasn't anchored right the first time.
Above ground, we weld and hang everything square so the gate swings true and latches clean season after season. Welded steel and heavy pipe get a finish that fights rust in our weather, timber arches are built from stout material rated for the load, and automation is wired and adjusted so it opens smooth and stops where it should. The result is an entrance that still looks straight and works right long after a quick-build job would be drooping at the latch.
What Ranch Entry Gates Do for Your Property
From a welcoming front entrance to a working trailer gate, here's where a custom ranch entry earns its keep across Central Kansas.
Statement Front Entrance
An overhead arch with your name or brand turns a plain driveway into an entrance folks remember.
Tie Into the Ranch Fence
We match the gate to your fence line so the whole perimeter reads as one finished, intentional run.
Working Trailer Access
Wide openings clear a gooseneck or stock trailer without you sweating the mirrors on the way through.
Pipe & Continuous Lines
Heavy pipe entries pair naturally with continuous pipe fencing for a clean, durable look up front.
Automation & Hardware
Openers, keypads, latches, and heavy hinges that hold up to daily use and Kansas weather.
Fully Custom Builds
Got a specific look in mind? We design one-off entrances and special fence work to match it.
Custom ranch entry gates are priced per gate, not per foot. A clean welded steel or pipe entrance lands at the lower end, while wide overhead arches with automation and custom metalwork run toward the high end.
What Affects Your Ranch Entry Gate Installation Price
- Opening width and overall gate size
- Material — welded steel, heavy pipe, or timber

Ranch Entry Gate Installation FAQ
Ranch entry gates are priced per gate, not per foot, and most land between about $1,500 and $10,000 or more. A straightforward welded steel or pipe entrance sits at the lower end, while a wide overhead arch with custom metalwork and automation runs toward the top. The only way to get a real number is a free on-site estimate.
Absolutely — that's one of our favorite parts of the job. We build overhead timber and pipe arches and can work your family name, ranch name, or registered brand across the top in cut or welded steel. Cody will sketch options with you so the entrance reflects your place.
It will when it's anchored for it. An arch catches a lot of wind, so we set heavy posts deep in concrete below the frost line and add extra bracing at the arch and corners. Skimping on post depth is the number-one reason entry gates lean or sag out here — we don't cut that corner.
Yes. We install gate openers with remotes, keypads, and other controls so you can open the entrance from the cab without getting out. We run the power, mount and adjust the operator, and make sure it opens smooth and stops where it should. Hardware and automation can also be added to an existing gate.
It depends on what you run through it. For homes and light use, a single drive gate works, but if you're pulling a gooseneck or stock trailer through, we size the opening wide enough to clear it comfortably — often a double-swing or larger. We'll measure your approach and recommend a width that fits how you actually use the entrance.
That's how we like to do it. We match the gate and posts to your existing ranch fence — pipe, welded, or wire — so the entrance reads as part of one finished perimeter instead of a piece bolted on later. If the fence line needs work where it meets the gate, we'll handle that too.
