Burrton's Go-To for Farm & Ranch Fence

Burrton is farm country through and through — a small Harvey County town sitting between Hutchinson and Newton, ringed by crop ground and grazing pasture in every direction. Out here a fence isn't decoration; it holds cattle off the road, keeps horses safe, and lines off field from field. River Creek Fence works Burrton from our shop just down the road in Haven, building the woven wire, barbed wire, field fence, and gates that this kind of working ground depends on.

Owner Cody Yoder grew up around farm ground and livestock, so a Burrton job speaks our language. We know how a steer leans on a corner post, why a horse needs a fence with no sharp edges or wide gaps, and how much it matters that a gate still swings square after ten Kansas winters. We treat every project here the way we'd build it on family ground — posts set deep, corners braced heavy, and wire stretched tight.

Burrton is a quick run northeast of Haven, so getting a crew and a trailer of materials to your place is never a hassle. Whether you farm a full section off the highway, run a few head of cattle, keep horses behind the house, or just want a clean privacy fence around a home in town, we'll come walk the line with you and hand you a straight, free estimate — no pressure and no runaround.

Cattle, Crops & Fence Lines Near Burrton

Burrton owes a lot of its history to the railroad — the town grew up as a shipping point where two rail lines crossed, named for Isaac T. Burr of the Santa Fe, and the oil that came in from western Harvey County helped it ride out the Dust Bowl when plenty of small towns didn't. That farm-and-ranch backbone is still what we build for today: woven wire and barbed wire perimeter for cattle, field fence for crop ground, safe horse fence, and the corral and gate work that takes the hardest pressure.

Kansas ground sets the rules for how we build around Burrton. We dig corners, gates, and braces in concrete and set every post well below the frost line, so they don't heave when the clay-loam soil bakes hard in August and soaks in spring. We brace heavy against the open-prairie wind that runs straight across this stretch of Harvey County, stretch wire tight so it won't sag, and clean up the job before we pull out. Built right the first time means you're not fixing it next season.

They installed my horse pasture fence and I could not be happier. They listened to my request, offered great advice to improve my design, and knocked down a number of small trees that were a fire threat to make a wonderful pasture. I would absolutely recommend them.

Cody did work on a neighbor's property and it looked great, so I had him come out to discuss replacing rusted-out panels of wrought iron. The quote was more than fair, so we scheduled the replacement. From start to finish it took less than 4 hours and it looks great. Yard and dog are now secure again. Highly recommend.

I am so impressed with River Creek Fence. Cody came out and did a quote — very friendly. He discussed what I wanted and asked questions. It took awhile to get scheduled but it was well worth it. The fence was replaced (cleanup included) in like 4 hrs! The new fence is gorgeous! Highly recommend!!! Photos don't do it justice.
