Mount Hope's Close-to-Home Fence Crew

Mount Hope is one of the closest towns we work, and that shows up in how often you'll see our trucks rolling through. River Creek Fence is based just west in Haven, and a Mount Hope job is a short, easy drive east — close enough that getting a crew, posts, and wire to your place is never a hassle. Tucked into the Sedgwick County farm country between Hutchinson and Wichita, Mount Hope is a small, semi-rural town: a tidy core of homes surrounded by the working ground and pasture that has defined this stretch since the railroad days. We build for both sides of that — clean residential fence around the house and tough farm fence out on the land.

Owner Cody Yoder grew up around farm ground and livestock, so the mix of work in Mount Hope speaks our language. One day it's woven wire and barbed wire perimeter for cattle on the edge of town, the next it's a privacy fence around a backyard a block off the highway. We treat every line the same way: set right, braced right, and built to outlast the wind and the weather.

Whether you farm a quarter section outside of town, keep a few head behind the house, or just want a safe, good-looking fence around the yard, we'll come out, walk the line with you, and hand you a straight, free estimate. No pressure and no runaround — just a fair price on a fence that holds.

Local Knowledge

Fencing Homes & Small Farms by Mount Hope

Mount Hope was founded back in 1874 in Greeley Township, near the Arkansas River, and it grew up as a Missouri Pacific Railroad town that hauled grain and livestock to market — passenger trains still ran through here into the 1960s. That farm-and-ranch character never left. Today it's still a small Sedgwick County community where the local high school cheers on the Mount Hope Pirates and most of the surrounding ground is in crops or pasture. A lot of what we build here reflects that: woven wire and barbed wire perimeter for cattle, field and pasture cross-fence, and clean residential and privacy fence for homes in town.

We build for Kansas conditions, because this part of the state hands you all of them. Out here the wind comes hard across open ground, and the clay-loam soil bakes tight in summer then takes on water after a storm, so we set posts well below the frost line and brace corners, gates, and ends heavy so nothing heaves or leans. Whether it's a stretch of cattle fence on the section line or a backyard privacy fence in town, we build it to stand up to Mount Hope weather and stay tight for years.

They installed my horse pasture fence and I could not be happier. They listened to my request, offered great advice to improve my design, and knocked down a number of small trees that were a fire threat to make a wonderful pasture. I would absolutely recommend them.

Cody did work on a neighbor's property and it looked great, so I had him come out to discuss replacing rusted-out panels of wrought iron. The quote was more than fair, so we scheduled the replacement. From start to finish it took less than 4 hours and it looks great. Yard and dog are now secure again. Highly recommend.

I am so impressed with River Creek Fence. Cody came out and did a quote — very friendly. He discussed what I wanted and asked questions. It took awhile to get scheduled but it was well worth it. The fence was replaced (cleanup included) in like 4 hrs! The new fence is gorgeous! Highly recommend!!! Photos don't do it justice.

It's a mix. Out on the farm ground around Mount Hope it's mostly agricultural — woven wire and barbed wire perimeter for cattle, plus field and pasture cross-fence. In town we build a lot of residential fence: wood and vinyl privacy fence, chain link, and yard fence to keep kids and dogs safe.

Quick. Haven is just west of Mount Hope, so it's a short drive east for our crew and materials — one of the closest towns we serve. Once we've walked your line and you're ready to go, we'll get you on the schedule and out there without a long wait.

We set posts well below the Kansas frost line — corners, gates, and braces in concrete — so they don't heave when the clay-loam soil around Mount Hope dries hard and then soaks up a storm. We also brace ends and corners heavy to stand up to the open-country wind that runs across this part of Sedgwick County.

It depends on the type and footage. Barbed wire and woven wire run a few dollars a foot, while wood, vinyl, and ornamental fence cost more. Our free Fence Cost Guide breaks down real Central Kansas ranges, and we'll give you a firm, free quote on your exact Mount Hope project.
