Serving Partridge, KS

Worth the Drive Out to Partridge

Partridge is a small grain-elevator farming town in the western half of Reno County, sitting out past Yoder where the section roads run long and the crop and grazing ground stretches to the horizon. It's the kind of place where fence isn't decoration — it's a working part of the operation, holding cattle off the wheat, splitting a quarter into manageable paddocks, and keeping a gate swinging true through every season. River Creek Fence drives out to Partridge regularly from our Haven home base to build exactly that.

Owner Cody Yoder grew up around farm ground and livestock, so the work out here is second nature to us: woven wire stretched tight along a perimeter, barbed wire on the big grazing runs, cross-fence to rotate stock, and corner braces set heavy enough to take the pressure when cattle lean on them. We come to you, walk the line, and talk through what your ground actually needs — no upsell, no city-contractor markup.

We're based right here in Central Kansas - about 18 miles west of Haven. Whether you farm a full section outside of town, run a few head of cattle, keep horses behind the house, or just want a clean fence around a place in the village, we'll come out and give you a straight, free estimate on a fence built to last.

Local Knowledge

Fence for Partridge Farms & Grazing Ground

Partridge has been a farm and shipping town since it was laid out in 1886 along the old Chicago, Kansas and Nebraska rail line that ran west toward Pratt, and grain and livestock have moved through here ever since. The elevator still anchors the town, and the ground around it is classic Reno County country — wheat, milo, and soybean fields broken up by pasture and grazing land. That mix is exactly what we fence: perimeter to hold the edges, cross-fence to manage the paddocks, and tight livestock fence where it counts.

Out here the conditions decide how a fence has to be built. The open ground west of Yoder catches plenty of wind, and our clay-loam soil bakes hard in summer and swells when it's wet, so we set line posts deep and put corners, gates, and braces in concrete well below the frost line. Stretched right and braced heavy, a woven or barbed wire fence around Partridge will stand straight for decades instead of sagging and leaning after a couple of winters.

They installed my horse pasture fence and I could not be happier. They listened to my request, offered great advice to improve my design, and knocked down a number of small trees that were a fire threat to make a wonderful pasture. I would absolutely recommend them.

Cody did work on a neighbor's property and it looked great, so I had him come out to discuss replacing rusted-out panels of wrought iron. The quote was more than fair, so we scheduled the replacement. From start to finish it took less than 4 hours and it looks great. Yard and dog are now secure again. Highly recommend.

I am so impressed with River Creek Fence. Cody came out and did a quote — very friendly. He discussed what I wanted and asked questions. It took awhile to get scheduled but it was well worth it. The fence was replaced (cleanup included) in like 4 hrs! The new fence is gorgeous! Highly recommend!!! Photos don't do it justice.

Common Questions

Partridge Fencing Questions

Yes — Partridge is well within our service area. We're based in Haven, about 18 miles east, and run out to Partridge and the surrounding western Reno County farm ground regularly. Call Cody at (620) 899-5595 for a free, no-pressure estimate.

On most Partridge ground it's agricultural fence — woven wire and barbed wire for cattle and grazing land, cross-fence to rotate paddocks, and safe horse fence where folks keep a few head. We match the fence to your operation and the way you use the ground.

Absolutely. We work the whole western side of Reno County, and Partridge is a regular stop for us out past Yoder. You get the same local crew, the same honest pricing, and the same 5-year workmanship warranty no matter how far out of town your ground sits.

We set line posts deep and put corners, gates, and braces in concrete well below the Kansas frost line. That keeps them from heaving when our Reno County clay-loam soil bakes hard and then swells, and the heavy bracing stands up to the open wind that comes across the ground west of Yoder.

It comes down to the type and footage — barbed wire and woven wire run a few dollars a foot, while wood, vinyl, and ornamental cost more. Our free Fence Cost Guide lays out real Central Kansas ranges, and we'll give you a firm, free quote on your exact Partridge project.
