Farm & Ranch Fence for Stafford

Stafford is deep farm and ranch country, and out here a fence has a job to do. Set in Stafford County not far from the marshes and grasslands of the Quivira National Wildlife Refuge, this is wide-open grazing and cropland where cattle range, horses run, and a fence line has to hold against the stock and the wind alike. River Creek Fence builds the woven wire, barbed wire, cattle perimeter, and horse fence that keeps livestock where it belongs and gates that swing straight season after season.

We're a Haven-based crew, and Stafford sits at the western edge of the range we cover — a straight shot west across Central Kansas. Distance is no obstacle for us; we load the trailer, make the drive, and treat a Stafford job the same as one across the road from the shop. Owner Cody Yoder grew up around farm ground and livestock, so the work out here is second nature: cattle that lean on a brace, horses that need safe smooth-wire or rail, and long perimeter runs that have to stay tight for years.

Whether you run a cow-calf operation on the open ground south of town, keep a few horses behind the house, or need to re-fence a quarter section that's gone to pot, we'll come out, walk the line with you, and give you a straight, free estimate. No pressure and no runaround — just a fair price on a fence built to outlast the weather.

Local Knowledge

Fencing Stafford's Fields & Wildlife Country

Stafford County is flat farm and ranch ground broken up by grass-covered sand dunes, and the local economy runs on agriculture, oil, and the land — the kind of country where livestock fence and field fence earn their keep. The county's best-known landmark, the Quivira National Wildlife Refuge just east of town, draws hundreds of bird species and tens of thousands of geese and cranes along the Central Flyway each fall, and the historic Stafford library anchors a small, tight-knit town that values work done right. Most of what we build here is agricultural: woven wire and barbed wire perimeter for cattle, safe horse fence, and pasture cross-fencing that takes the pressure when stock crowds a corner.

We build for Kansas ground and Kansas weather. Out on this open prairie the wind comes hard across the dunes, so we brace corners and gates heavy and stretch wire tight so a fence stays true. We set posts well below the frost line and anchor corners, braces, and gate posts in concrete so they don't heave when the clay-loam soil bakes hard then soaks. From a few miles of perimeter on a ranch to a clean line around a farmhouse, we build it to stand up out here.

They installed my horse pasture fence and I could not be happier. They listened to my request, offered great advice to improve my design, and knocked down a number of small trees that were a fire threat to make a wonderful pasture. I would absolutely recommend them.

Cody did work on a neighbor's property and it looked great, so I had him come out to discuss replacing rusted-out panels of wrought iron. The quote was more than fair, so we scheduled the replacement. From start to finish it took less than 4 hours and it looks great. Yard and dog are now secure again. Highly recommend.

I am so impressed with River Creek Fence. Cody came out and did a quote — very friendly. He discussed what I wanted and asked questions. It took awhile to get scheduled but it was well worth it. The fence was replaced (cleanup included) in like 4 hrs! The new fence is gorgeous! Highly recommend!!! Photos don't do it justice.

Out in this flat, windy farm and ranch country, it's mostly agricultural — woven wire and barbed wire perimeter for cattle and grazing ground, safe horse fence like four-rail and no-climb, and pasture cross-fencing. We stretch wire tight and brace corners heavy so a Stafford fence holds up to the prairie wind.

Absolutely. The big spreads around Stafford are exactly what we're built for — miles of perimeter, cross-fencing, corrals, and gates. We'll walk the ground with you, plan the layout, and set it all to last out on the open Stafford County range.

We set posts well below the Kansas frost line and anchor corners, braces, and gate posts in concrete so they don't heave when the Stafford County clay-loam soil bakes hard then soaks. On the open prairie out here, we brace corners extra heavy to stand up to the wind.

It depends on the type and footage — barbed wire and woven wire run a few dollars a foot, while wood, vinyl, and ornamental cost more. Our free Fence Cost Guide breaks down real Central Kansas ranges, and we'll give you a firm, free quote on your exact Stafford project.
