Fence Removal in Central Kansas
Old fence coming down? We tear out and haul away worn-out fencing across Haven, Hutchinson, and Reno County, then leave the line clean and ready. Free estimates, backed by our 5-year warranty.
Tear Out the Old, Make Room for the New
A leaning, rotted, or rusted-out fence is more than an eyesore — it can be a hazard to kids, pets, and livestock, and it gets harder to remove the longer it sits. River Creek Fence pulls out old fencing of every kind, from a sagging backyard privacy fence in Hutchinson to a quarter-mile of brittle barbed wire running along a section line outside Haven.
Removal sounds simple until you are wrestling concrete-set posts out of dry Kansas clay or untangling decades of wire that has grown into a hedgerow. We bring the right equipment and the muscle to get it done without tearing up your yard or your ground. Posts come out, panels come down, and everything gets loaded and hauled off so you are not left staring at a pile of busted lumber and twisted wire.
Owner Cody Yoder spent years on the farm, so he knows the difference between a fence line you can drive a tractor along and one that swallows a brush hog. Whether you are clearing a property for resale, opening up a pasture, or just done patching the same rotten section every spring, we make the old fence disappear and hand you a clean slate.
Why Hire Us for Fence Removal
Heavy, dirty work handled the right way — your property left cleaner than we found it.
Full Haul-Away
We do not just drop the fence and leave. Posts, panels, wire, and concrete all get loaded up and taken off your property.
Yard-Friendly Removal
We work carefully around sprinklers, flower beds, and turf so pulling the old fence does not wreck what is around it.
Responsible Disposal
Old lumber, metal, and wire are sorted and sent to the right place — we recycle what we can instead of dumping it all.
5-Year Warranty
When removal leads into a new fence, that install carries our full 5-year workmanship warranty for peace of mind.
Every Kind of Old Fence Comes Down
No matter what is standing on your property in Reno County, we have pulled one like it before.
Wood Privacy Fence
Rotted pickets, leaning posts, and gray sagging panels removed cleanly so your yard opens back up.
Chain Link
Rusted mesh, bent top rail, and concrete footings pulled out without leaving sharp scrap behind.
Barbed & Woven Wire
Old ag fencing rolled, cut, and hauled off — even the stretches grown into the tree line.
Vinyl & Composite
Cracked or storm-damaged vinyl panels and posts taken down and disposed of the right way.
Storm-Damaged Sections
Blown-over runs after a Kansas windstorm cleared fast so your property is safe again.
Overgrown Fence Lines
Brush, saplings, and decades of growth cut back so the old fence and the line are workable again.
More Than Pulling Posts
A lot of fence lines out here have not seen a clean pull in twenty years. Volunteer trees grow up through the wire, brush chokes the bottom rail, and old posts snap off at ground level when you tug on them. We come prepared for the real condition of the line, not the easy version — cutting back the overgrowth, digging out stubborn footings, and grinding or pulling what is left below grade so the next fence sits where it should.
When the tear-out is finished, the line is clear enough to walk, mow, or build on. If you are replacing the fence, we set the new posts right where the old ones came out, saving you a second mobilization and getting your project done faster. If you are done with the fence for good, we leave the ground graded smooth and ready for grass or whatever comes next.

Fence Removal FAQ
It depends on the type of fence, how long the run is, and how the posts were set. A short stretch of chain link comes out cheap, while a long line of concrete-set wood posts or wire grown into a tree row takes more time and equipment. We give a flat, written price after walking the line, and if you are putting up a new fence we usually fold removal into the project at a discount.
We haul it all away. Posts, panels, wire, gates, and concrete footings get loaded onto our trailer and taken off your property. You will not be left with a pile to deal with — and we recycle the metal and wire instead of just trucking everything to the dump.
Yes — that is some of the work we do most. A lot of old fence lines around Haven and Reno County have years of brush and small trees grown right through them. We cut back the growth, clear the line, and pull the fence out so you can mow, drive, or build along it again.
We work to leave the ground in good shape. Posts are dug or ground out below grade, holes are backfilled, and the line is raked smooth so you can seed it or set a new fence. We watch for sprinkler heads, drip lines, and landscaping, and we mark utilities with Kansas 811 before any digging starts.
Absolutely, and it is the most efficient way to do it. We pull the old fence, prep the line, and set the new posts in one mobilization — which saves you money versus hiring two separate jobs. The new fence is backed by our 5-year workmanship warranty.
