Overview

Fencing That Actually Keeps People Out

A security fence has one job: make your property hard to get into and easy to monitor. River Creek Fence builds barriers that do exactly that — tall enough to discourage climbing, tight enough to deter cutting, and laid out so there are no blind spots or easy footholds. Whether you run a warehouse in Hutchinson, a contractor yard near Wichita, or a utility site out in Reno County, we design the line around the assets you need to protect.

We start by walking the perimeter with you and thinking like someone trying to get past it. Where would they cut across? What corner is out of sight from the office? Which gate sees the most traffic? Those answers drive the height, the materials, and where the access points go. A fence that looks secure but leaves an obvious weak point isn't doing its job, and we don't build those.

Owner Cody Yoder spent years building fence that had to hold up under real pressure on the farm, and that same standard carries into commercial work. Posts go in deep and square, panels get fastened so they can't be pried loose, and gates are braced to swing true under daily use. The result is a perimeter you can trust to be standing and secure long after the install crew is gone.

Built to Last

Security Built for Central Kansas Conditions

A barrier that protects your property still has to survive the weather here. Central Kansas wind tests every panel, and a security fence usually runs taller than a residential one, which means more surface for a gust to push against. We set posts below the frost line, brace corners and gate ends hard, and choose gauges heavy enough that the fence doesn't rack or sag the first stormy season.

We also build with your operation in mind. A site with semis coming and going needs gate openings and turning room that residential layouts never consider, and a facility running cameras after dark needs a perimeter that doesn't fight the lighting. We coordinate height, slat placement, and access points so the finished fence supports the rest of your security setup instead of working against it.

Common Questions

Security Fence Installation FAQ

For most commercial sites we recommend at least 7 to 8 feet, which puts the top out of easy reach and discourages climbing. High-risk sites often go higher and add mesh infill or a topper. During your free assessment we'll factor in what you're protecting and what your insurer or industry requires, then recommend a height that fits.

Yes. Privacy slats woven into chain link are one of the most affordable ways to block sightlines into a yard while keeping the strength and height of a security fence. They come in several colors and densities, so you can match your branding and decide how much of the view to close off. It's a popular choice for contractor yards and storage lots around Hutchinson and Wichita.

We do. We build and hang slide or swing gates and leave them hardware-ready — or fully wired — for keypads, card readers, and automatic operators. If you already work with an access-control or electrician vendor, we coordinate with them so the gate and the controls come together cleanly.

Galvanized chain link and powder-coated steel both stand up well to our wind, heat, and freeze-thaw swings. The bigger factor is how it's built — heavy-gauge posts set deep in concrete and braced corners matter more than the material alone, especially on taller security height where wind load is higher. We spec the gauge and post depth to your site so the fence stays put.

Not when it's planned right. We lay out the perimeter to keep clear sightlines for your cameras and avoid casting shadows that lighting can't cover. If you tell us where your cameras and lights are — or where they'll go — we'll position posts, gates, and any privacy slats to support that coverage rather than block it.
